2011 Golden Globes Fashion Coverage

Award season is upon us, and second to finding out what movies took home to top honors is seeing what the celebrities wear to the festivities. Here are some of the one that I found most memorable.

Sofia Vergara never fails to impress, especially in this pinky-coral Vera Wang number. Ms. Vergara could wear a paper bag and still look gorgeous, but something about the folds on top looked sort of funny to me. I loved the mermaid silhouette and understated jewelry though!

Dianna Agron channeled old Hollywood glamor in a delicate nude J Mendel dress. I love the waistline, the volume of the dress, and especially her hair! Her sparkly statement necklace finishes the look nicely.

Somehow, Emma Stone ended up looking like an orange sherbet colored crayon. The dress blended in with her spray tan, and I am NOT a fan of her weird hair color. Contrast is beautiful–her red hair made her stand out! Emma’s blonde locks and nude lips made her look WAY too washed out.

Amber Riley was looking FABOOSH in her blinged out Oliver Tolentino dress. She dresses for a fuller figure right–the dress was super flattering and clung to all the right places. She looked absolutely gorgeous.

Mila Kunis is a pretty as can be, but I’ve never been a fan of shoulder accents. Vera Wang designed this emerald green dress. I love the train, Mila’s hair, and the lower half of the dress, but I just don’t love the top.

Jennifer Lopez wore Zuhair Muhad, but I’m really not digging the weird poncho cape thing. To be honest, this reminds me of the tacky bedazzled dresses that come from Glitter Designs.

Anne Hathaway can do no wrong. She looks gorgeous in this gold detailed Armani Prive gown. The middle part and understated hair perfectly compliments the lux dress.

Zac Posen’s mermaid gown is absolutely stunning on Eva Longoria. I love her hair, fresh makeup, the cap sleeves, and right about of cleavage. Take that Tony Parker.

Natalie Portman’s Viktor and Rolf dress was…ummm lets just say I hope Swarovski crystal flower embellishments don’t stick around.

Carrie Underwood looks flawless in Badgley Mischka. This year nudes and light pinks have emerged as a huge trend, especially in lace or beaded fabrics.

Olivia Wilde wore a glimmering Marchesa ball gown. I don’t really like dresses with the Cinderella ball gown shape, but Olivia Wilde is absolutely gorgeous. I only wish she would have done something better with her hair.

Although her hair was a hot mess, Lea Michelle still looked beautiful in Oscar de la Renta. Uncle Oscar has designed almost every one of the dresses she’s worn on the red carpet, hence why she always looks incredible.

I was unaware that Valentino was capable of designing such an atrocity. Daisies? Michelle Williams, please for once show up to a red carpet event NOT dressed like a grandma.

Leighton Meester in Burberry Prorsum was one of my favorite looks of the night. I love the Renaissance feel of her dress, the accented sleeves, slit, and material. Her hair and Jimmy Choo’s are to die for.

  1. Couldn’t agree more with your views! Really don’t understand all the hoop-la about Olivia Wilde’s dress. Thought it looked like she was going to prom or playing dress up but hey, like you said, she was still gorgeous!!
